Rubio is Being Set Up for the 2028 Presidential Election, says Fuentes
Nick Fuentes argues that Marco Rubio is being positioned for a presidential run in 2028 — and says he will not back a ticket with Rubio on it.
Nick Fuentes, host of America First, has spent much of 2026 warning his audience that Secretary of State Marco Rubio is being positioned as a Republican presidential contender for 2028, and that the Iran war is shaping how that run will be sold.
Appearing on The Alex Jones Show on March 3, Fuentes tied Rubio’s public explanations of the war directly to 2028. “JD Vance and Marco Rubio, they want to run for president in ’28, so they know that their butt is on the line here,” he said. “If this Iran war doesn’t go well, there go their presidential ambitions.”
Fuentes argued that Rubio’s statement that Israel’s actions forced the United States’ hand was an early campaign defense. “This is like a real time narrative construction so that when, in ’28, he’s questioned about it on the debate stage, if this becomes a debacle, this is hedging,” he said. “That’s going to be the campaign speech.”
A day earlier, on the March 2 edition of America First streamed on Rumble, Fuentes drew a firm line: “If Rubio or Vance are on the ticket in any form in ’28, I’m voting for a Democrat.”
He returned to the theme on April 27, telling viewers that the movement needs “an insurgent on the Republican side” in the 2028 primary to defeat Vance, Rubio, Ted Cruz “or whoever else is going to run.” “We want an America first Republican,” he said.
Alex Jones has made a similar case. When Fuentes joined him on June 19 to discuss the vice president’s own positioning for 2028, Jones warned that the establishment and corporate media were pushing Rubio as the 2028 Republican nominee, according to Jones’s site.
Fuentes has since extended the argument to the midterms, telling followers in late October to “stay home or vote Democrat” and describing a withheld vote as a veto the America First bloc can use against the party’s leadership.
Rubio has not announced a 2028 campaign. Neither he nor the State Department has responded publicly to Fuentes’s claims.
